3 ways I build connections every day

Hey,

I thought I would share a couple of simple ways I build connections that have nothing to do with automation or AI.

I will however tell you how I use Ai in a future podcast episode and email but I don't believe relationships are automated or should be artificial.

1. I answer comments and direct messages on social media and in email

I don't care if it's my great aunt or a potential high-paying client. I answer them. Do I miss a few here and there? Of course, but I try to answer thoughtfully as often as possible.

When you respond, the other person feels important, and making people feel important (because they are important) has never done any harm.

Through the years I have found that the relationships that start as a quick note here and there become some of the greatest people I work with–– I get to work with some cool people.

From a technical standpoint, the more you converse online, the more the social media algorithms will put your content in front of each other

2. Listen to understand

Have you ever been in a group of people and watched them try to "one-up" each other the whole time? The worst.

But this happens more subtly when it comes to individuals asking for advice or feedback. I see others jump in with advice without understanding the question.

My best lesson in building unbreakable trust with people I want around me is to listen with the intent to understand and ask for clarity before giving feedback. Ask 2 follow-up questions. THEN ask if they would like feedback. This will help you tremendously in business conversations and sales calls.

3. Enhance the inner circle

I've said this before and I will say it again––my life and business changed when I felt like I had a support system. For me this was in the form of 2 mastermind groups (peer business groups) that I joined in 2018. Suddenly I had support like I never had before––a group of peers with creative energy and various experiences and expertise.

Today, as I met with one of my current mastermind groups, I recognized how much power there is in having a place where you don't have to feel like you are wearing a mask, and you don't have to have it all figured out.

The relationships I have built in these business groups over the years have become my clients, my cheerleaders, my advocates, my conference besties, my friends...

Nothing compares.

I wanted to share those 3 and to let you know that this is your last opportunity to join my mastermind this season. I am not sure when I will launch another one.

I have been feeling a deep purpose to create community among entrepreneurs who are in the same boat...

  • They want to build and grow their personal-brand and business.
  • Have a more robust support system/network.
  • Get in front of more people.
  • They want a place they can ask questions with no shame.
  • And have courage to celebrate wins.
  • To feel confidence about next steps.
  • They're on a budget, but still want to develop themselves.

I crafted this new mastermind with those things in mind.

I'd love for you to join us. I've had quite a bit of interest, and the application closes tomorrow night. This is the last email you'll see about it.

I'd love to see if this is a good fit for you –– I know groups like these changed my business and helped me become not only profitable but build a business with purpose. If you have any questions, you can reply directly to this email, I am here!

P.S. Looking specifically for a few people who will want their calls to EITHER take place between the hours of 9am-1pm ET or after 5pm ET for a night-school version. If either of these fits into your schedule, let me know!
