I'm in hot cheeto mode...

Hey,

I wrote that subject line as a joke when I was staring at my blank screen, next to a small snack bowl of Hot Cheetos, but then I started laughing about it.

I have so many things of value to share with you right now, but I have been in "Hot Cheeto Mode," I mean.... "battery saver mode." There have been a lot of good and also a few unexpected happenings latelyโ€“and my brain feels explosive and expansive all at once as we come to the end of the year, so I start conserving decision-making energy.

When in battery saver mode, I'm likely to eat a snack bag of Hot Cheetos and a Diet Dr. Pepper for lunch than make myself a healthy meal.

Stop right there. Please don't tell me how bad they are for me. I know this. This is not an everyday or even often type-of-thing. I have been through a lot okay, leave my hot cheeto seldom-snack alone damnit. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I bet sometimes you think I, or whoever you compare yourself to, have everything together in life and business.

But every once in a blue moon I eat Hot Cheetos when I am too busy for lunch and I make things worse by not fueling myself properly.

Sometimes I sit on the couch to work instead of at my desk, where I would be far more productive.

There have been days our dogs' barking overstimulates me to the point of needing to sit in my car for a grown-up time-out.

Sometimes I spend all morning buying Christmas presents when I should be getting something important done.

Sometimes I overconsume podcasts and learning instead of actually doing the things I am learning to do.

Sometimes I cry about careless things people said to me, even if they didn't mean to hurt my feelings.

Guess what.

The people you compare yourself to on the internet, the coaches and consultants you work with. The people you haven't met but seem to be so successful?

They have their version of hot cheeto mode, too.

I actually have never met a single person I professionally admired that didn't have their own version of hot cheeto mode that happens from time to time.

It's just data. It means something needs to change... sometimes small and sometimes big.

But I don't stay there. I get back up, and I keep moving forward. And you do too.

You have chosen a life where you get to be entrepreneurial-minded or intrapreneurial-minded. As you build your business, side business, or career and you will experience wild ups/downs.

It also means you are going to be exposed to a lot of aspirational entrepreneur content that tells you that you have to be rigid...

That there is a wrong or right way...

That you have to be 150% dedicated to your ambition and productivity, and on your A-game, taking a radical-no-excuses mindset in life and work to make money...

OMG -- Those people have hot cheeto mode too. I am so freaking serious. I am SO serious.

They have days where they are not their best, and then they likely have their moment, make changes, and keep going. They are just not going to sell that to you because it isn't very sexy... right?

But you are also going to notice that a lot of people won't make it.

They will tell you everything is going perfectly and share their perfect life with you online for you to compare your experience to, until one day they share a post that says "It was all a front for what was REALLY happening."

I have been in business 15 years this year. I have seen this happen over and over again, which is why I want to be so transparent with you.

This is the secret: Embrace hot cheeto mode:

The people who make it big, aren't people who never experience this. Instead, they embrace their hot cheeto moment, and don't shame themselves for it. Then they get up, adapt, and keep walking forward.

Now you know.

You have this inside you too.

I bet you can count more than 10 times you've gotten back up in your lifetime. You have a track record for MOVING FORWARD. That is why you are here.

So if you feel like you are in hot cheeto mode. Don't worry. It means you are going somewhere next.

Think of it as personal DATA. "When I am here... something is about to change, or I will be changing something."

So now I do want to know...

What is your version of hot cheeto mode? Reply and tell me!

Maybe it's bingeing 4 seasons of Real Housewives in a row. Maybe it's doing your favorite hobby instead of facing the challenge ahead right this second. Maybe it is taking a realllllly long time to water your plants while procrastinating... (guilty!)

None of these things are worth shaming yourself over. Let's celebrate this moment. It means changes are coming.

Whatever it is, let yourself enjoy it without shame. It's ok. Everyone from Beyonce to Bob Dylan has a hot cheeto mode.

Align what areas to make changes in, and keep going.
