if you want to be more visible, do this

Hi,

I was walking the dogs this morning and I saw my neighbor down the street (with her little white dog) who LOVES to talk.

EEEK! "Phew. She didn't see me," I said to myself as I paused, held my breath, and let Dewey potty while waiting for them to go back inside.

But... I am not a meanie right?

Surely you can relate. Have you ever had one of those moments where you just aren't ready to see people?

That was me today. It was 5:58am, the sun was barely up, but I was a mess. Hair in a sloppy pony tail, wearing one-step up from pajamas, barely awake and absolutely not forming cognitive thoughts.

I did not want to be visible in this moment. lol. Not at all. Please don't see me.

But there are other times I want to be visible and seen. (Like later in the day usually) when I am in the mood to stop and yap with our neighbors who are all 30+ years older than us. I love them all.

In my work, I want to be seen for my expertise. I want to be known for my work as someone who cares, who is helpful, kind, intuitive and solves problems in a powerful way you didn't know was attainable.

I know you are hoping to be more visible too.

Do you ever feel like your work and passions are still hidden? Do you wish you had more sales calls, views on social media, meaningful conversations happening or more community?

You need to do these 3 things to show up to the right people.

These aren’t trendy one-hit-wonder hacks (music-nerd, I couldn't help myself).

I see these working for my clients every day...

---

1. Clear messaging that people can repeat.

If someone likes your work but doesn’t know how to talk about it, they won’t know how to refer you.

Is what you do so simple and clear that you could explain it to your grandma or your 4th-grade nephew?

When your message is clear and easy to repeat, others can advocate for you without much effort. That’s where real visibility starts.

2. At least one place where you consistently show up

Pick one place where you’ll commit to being visible. It doesn’t need to be everywhere all at once. It might be Instagram, LinkedIn, your email list or even an in-person space. (I'm a big advocate for an email list because we do not own our social media profiles)

The goal is to build familiarity. Familiarity builds trust.

Stop pressuring yourself to be everywhere all at once.

3. A simple way to show your thought process

People aren’t just hiring you for your services. They want to know how you think. What is your methodology? Your unique framework?

Many coaches, consultants, or business owners can use the same tools but what is your secret sauce? It has something to do with what makes you, YOU.

Show what it’s like to work with you. That’s what attracts the right clients.

Do you feel like you are doing all of these things? Maybe you have them but you want to be more strategic?

Which one do you want to improve upon?

:) Have a great day and let me know if you had a lightbulb moment. I love having conversations with you.
